The Rome Independent Living Centre (Centro per l'Autonomia) is a local service conceived by the Paraplegics Association of Rome and Lazio (Associazione Paraplegici di Roma e del Lazio) and managed by the social cooperative "Centro per l'Autonomia - Michele Iacontino" (former "Emmei").
In agreement with Local Health Authority Asl Rm C since 1997, ILC is acknowledged by Regione Lazio (Local Law nr. 22 of 11-8-09) to act for rehabilitation of people with serious disability and to facilitate their autonomy and self-determination...... (see all)

 

Rome ILC services

Rome Independent Living Centre offers persons with disability opportunities to:

  • improve the range of physical autonomy within the area of daily life activities
  • improve support procedures in every area of daily life where autonomy is not posssible
  • select the aids to mobility and posture best suited to individual needs, and maintain them in good working order
  • plan or rework one's dwelling, workplace or study area
  • devise plans for Alternative Augmented Communication together with families, schools, and empowerment specialists, in order to expand one's capacity to communicate and widen the opportunities of social inclusion..... (see all)
