Support to client and family

Working in partnership with the rest of our staff and with public agencies, our social workers accompany persons with disability throughout their path in Rome ILC, helping them in the process of reinsertion into society, re-starting personal relationships, rebuilding networks of friendships and contacts, starting or re-starting work, in a relations-based view meant to lead persons with disability and their families to cope with the changes in their lives, accepting disability in the reassessment of their inner balances. Social workers offer structured support to the clients and their families through the following:

  1. Face-to-face conversations
  2. Home visits
  3. Being part of institutional teams (school, health service, social service)
  4. Taking part in the activities of training for daily life and free time

Beside the social worker, staff members who may take part include: peer counsellors, psychologists
