Regulations

The rights of prospective Centre clients

Any prospective client is entitled:

  • To be helped and cured with care and attention, respecting their human dignity and their philosophical or religious values;
  • To be always spoken of by their personal and family name, rather than by a number or the name of their pathology;
  • To be able to recognize immediately the person in charge of them;
  • To receive from staff members in charge of them full and understandable information about the empowerment work and service plans;
  • To be given news that allow them to express a genuinely informed consent before being subjected to empowerment treatment. If staff members reach a properly motivated opinion that direct information to the client is either impossible or undesirable, such information must be supplied to family members or legal guardians;
  • To be certain that their own personal data are protected according to the Italian law on privacy, law 675 of 31/12/1996;
  • To make complaints that must be examined with despatch and to be informed with equal despatch on the result of such complaints.

Duties of prospective Rome ILC clients

To act correctly as clients also means to improve the quality of services offered by Rome ILC. When a client contacts Rome ILC:

  • They are invited to behave responsibly at all times, respecting and understanding the rights of other persons with disability, and being willing to co-operate with our staff;
  • They are required to respect buildings, equipment and furniture that pertain to Centre, so as to allow the regular implementation of care and support activities;

Furthermore:

  • It is advisable to avoid any behaviour that may unsettle others or make them ill at ease;
  • Smoking is never allowed. Respecting this requirement is a way of showing acceptance for the presence of others, as well as a healthy approach to being in the organization;
  • The organization, and the times expected in the health service where it is accessed, must be respected at all times and in all circumstances. To ask for services in incorrect ways and at incorrect times damage the service for all other users;
  • Citizens have a right to be correctly informed about structure and organization, but they are also under the duty to seek such information first, in proper times and places .
